    • BGF EmployAbility Technology – Summer Internship 2026

      16 Feb 2026

BGF Technology – Summer Internship 2026

      Location: London

BGF is an investment partner for growing companies in every sector of the economy in the UK and Ireland. With over 190 staff in 15 offices, BGF provides local expertise to entrepreneurs and small businesses, helping them to scale up and succeed. The Technology team is crucial to enabling the success of our investment teams through the work that they do.

The 8-week summer internship programme will run from 29th June 2026 – 21st August 2026, taking interns across a number of different functions, although we are exclusively partnering with EmployAbility to recruit for our Technology role.

The internship will include training to support you in your role and enhance your understanding of our industry. This will be supplemented by projects and a mentoring programme.

      The Role:

The Technology team at BGF are essential for ensuring the business runs smoothly. The team work across 4 key areas as follows, working across London and Birmingham offices:

      • Infrastructure and Support – e.g. our general office support, hardware, video conferencing
      • Cyber and Data Protection – e.g. IT policies and procedures, spyware detection, use of Artificial Intelligence
      • Business Systems – e.g. management of our internal platforms and software, including our client relationship management system, deal management system and internal intranet sites
      • Business Intelligence – e.g. use of data analytics and reporting to present investment and broader business data, creation of various reports and models

As a Technology intern you will gain experience across different areas of the team, participate in projects and deepen your understanding of the crucial role technology plays in a leading investment fund. You will also have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.

To note, the chosen candidate will be supporting internal employee Technology requirements, rather than supporting our external investee companies.

      Your Experience:

BGF is an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all backgrounds. There are no specific degree, grade or work experience pre-requisites. All that we ask is that you are in your penultimate or final year of university (Undergraduate or Master’s).

Candidates do not need to have a background in technology but would ideally demonstrate an interest in technology trends and have done some research into how technology can support within Financial Services. The ideal intern will be curious, ambitious and have a thirst for learning. Ahead of interviews, we also encourage candidates to consider how their interests and motivations align to the core specialisms above.

      2024 Summer Intern Testimonial:

“I can’t recommend BGF’s internship programme enough. The welcoming and open nature within each office is the perfect environment to learn and gain exposure to all things investment. The work has been varied and open to allow me to hone in on the aspects of the role that interested me the most. Experiences were hands-on and overall showed me huge insight into my role within Financial Services. I felt part of the team from the very start and had a lot of fun alongside the learning. If you get the opportunity to be part of this fantastic organisation- take it!”
