We are thrilled to announce that our Founder and CEO, Tab Ahmad, has been awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours, for her services to inclusive access to employment for neurodivergent and disabled young people.
I am incredibly grateful to have received an OBE in the King’s 2024 Birthday Honours.
My first emotions: surprise and imposter syndrome in equal measure. Then, delight that our work at EmployAbility, to bring about equity and inclusion in employment for neurodivergent and disabled people, is recognised and valued.
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to my level headed and solid as a rock co-founder Sarah Denness, and to all my exceptional colleagues and team at EmployAbility…your passion, tireless work and commitment to levelling the playing field in employment, never ceases to amaze me!
Secondly, though our work continues, and there is still much to be done, I want to thank the individuals at some of the leading global companies who have partnered with us to move the needle in bringing about equity and inclusion in their organisations…we couldn’t have achieved what we have without your courage and commitment to embrace change.
Thirdly, I am grateful to our many Next Generation Inclusive University partners, who engage with us to ensure their students are properly supported when transitioning from education to employment.
Most importantly, I am thankful to over 20,000 of you since EmployAbility launched in 2006, talented neurodivergent and disabled individuals who have trusted us and our support in navigating the barriers faced in employment. I am honoured to remain in contact with so many of you, and it has been exhilarating to follow your career growth trajectories.
Finally, I couldn’t have achieved any of the above without the support of my amazing husband, Dominic Jacquesson MBE, who has been at my side to provide advice and counsel when I needed it, and believed in me every step of the way.
